Wellness/Classes
Our specialist Annette Karim, PT, DPT, OCS, offers injury prevention assessment through our Dance Medicine Wellness Screening:
- Sessions are designed to maximize wellness potential in dancers/performers/gymnasts/ice skaters and are on-site at your studio or gym.
- Be proactive with an evaluation for risks which dancer/performer/athlete may be exposed to, and receive a tailored exercise program for maximum wellness potential.
- She can provide annual musculoskeletal screens for professional dancers.
- Receive one-hour individual dancer consultation for conditioning/performance enhancement (one hour or fraction thereof).
- Reserve group dancer/athlete consultation, with individual evaluations at 15 or 30 minutes each.
- One-Time Free session of Introduction to Dancer Wellness Presentation available for studios, clubs, schools, groups. Includes question and answer session.
***Wellness/Educational Seminars/Conditioning are classified as medical treatments, and therefore, are not generally covered under insurance. Please contact us for rates.
Feldenkrais at Evergreen

What is Feldenkrais?

- Class involves simple, guided movement progressions, giving attention to subtleness and relaxation.

Groundwork class:
Start with Pilates matwork as a template and layer with the awareness of Feldenkrais to clarify and refine the use of self. Keeping a slow and easy pace and reducing effort allows you to recognize habits and favorings that restrict movement and create tension, imbalance and discomfort in your body. Rather than gripping muscles and efforting, you become able to access the body's natural abilities to move in a more responsive way and adapt easily as needed. Functional strength, suppleness and a much greater sense of well-being are the result.

Fitness Program: both one-on-one training with certified athletic trainer and independent use of gym /facility. One-on-one training for one hour. Independent use of gym/facility with light supervision by PTs who are generally in the same gym area. Please call Evergreen for rates.
Balance at Evergreen
Free Balance Classes at Evergreen:
Evergreen is offering a new program designed to address the need to maintain balance in your life. The classes will focus on preventing common balance problems in a safe and secure environment and are taught by Michelle Keyes, DPT and Melanie Villaroel, ATC.
Every Wednesdays at 11:00 AM, 45-50 minute classes, addressing the multiple dimensions of balance. Join us for classes to improve your balance, improve your confidence, improve function, increase fall risk prevention. Pre-testing & Post-testing included for maximum results.
- Classes will be based on ability screening, a maximum of 6 participants per class.
- Small class sizes for best results.
